Who's Who?

Whitby, Scarborough & Ryedale DAG is a User-Led Organisation (ULO), led by a Board of Trustees, a majority of whom are disabled people and carers.

The DAG team:

Whitby DAG currently has 5 part time members of operational staff. The staff, with the volunteers, run the day to day general office administration and other ongoing projects and services.

Each staff member has specialist roles within the group.

Judith Owen. Judith is the main administrator and office co-ordinator dealing with day to day management of the office and a wide range of information enquiries and requests. Apart from the monthly newsletter Judith also produces the Handbook and is the access specialist within DAG.

Mo Aldred. The Welfare Benefits information, advice and support service is provided by Mo. As detailed within the Welfare Benefits section on our website Mo supports people to complete their claim forms and assists with appeals and renewals. Mo has had many years experience and has a wide range of up-to-date knowledge regarding the benefits system.

Richard Weightman, Manager. Richard's main roles are to raise money to continue DAG's services, strategy, networking, service development and day-to-day management of the organisation.

Sally Williams. Project Worker. Sally runs our Befriending Through Sport project, helping disabled people to join in accessible sports activities, learn new sporting skils and, of course, make new friends. Boccia, Cricket, Seated Volleyball, Shooting, Adapted Cycling are all on the agenda for our current "Spring Into Action" project.

Vicky Millson. Project Worker. Vicky runs the mobility equipment hire scheme from our desk at Whitby Library, along with a small team of volunteers. The service runs from the Library on Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
